Opened in 1955 by a former Trader Vic\'s bar manager, Tiki Bob\'s stood at the corner of Post and Taylor Streets in San Francisco. The logo, designed by Alec Yuil-Thornton, was distinctive andis still a popular design. The smiling tiki logo still stands in front of the old location which is now something called Honey Honey. Tiki Bob\'s did not last long. The owner, Bob Bryant, tried to franchise his concept with a spot at the Capitol Inn in Sacramento, butclosed locations soon after that. The mug that features the logo character was one that you could get for free if you ordered the specialty of the house; The Super Sneaky Tiki. The mug remains a highly sought after collectible to this day.Digitally traced and redrawn from an old mathcbook, this Tiki Bob design was somewhat altered in order to make it look better on a shirt. We used a similar font for the slogan and repositioned the mugimage with the words TIKI BOB (that part of which was hand traced) so that it centered on the shirt better. In a lot of ways this is a brand new piece of art and a quality reproduction of a classic image. We are putting this one on a black shirt in order to make the colors pop.
