Vintage Small Tindeco Nursery Rhyme Christmas Tin Box with Handle

This sought-after small Tindeco nursery rhyme tin in red has a charming handle, and is decorated with Mother Goose characters and stories, like The Old Woman and the Shoe, Little Bo Peep, Hey Diddle Diddle, and Little Red Riding Hood. It’s also a Christmas tin – Santa makes an appearance on the lid and there is holly framing images on the tin. Dates to the 1920s. Lid is hinged.

CONDITION:

The vintage wear and patina includes some small areas of wear, some small scratches and scuffs, some handling marks and normal vintage soiling, some small dents and dings, etc.

Additional condition issues of note:

· Some red areas faded to pink, especially on back side.

· Some noticeable soiling and mild-ish denting on lid.

· A little rust inside, possibly some elsewhere in minor doses.

· Bottom has some letters scratched into it, including the name “Bud.”

· Discolored stain along one side of bottom.

· Hinge and handle are well attached and move freely.

· Opens and closes fine.

Approximate size of tin is about 4.5” by 2 5/8” by about 2 3/8” tall, excluding handle.

The tin is empty.
