This is a hand written note on House of Commons letterhead from Tony Benn, who was a leading British politician. The note accompanied a book that he had signed for me. It is in very good condition and is undated. I remember it was sent in the 1980\'s.
Anthony Neil Wedgwood Benn(3 April 1925 – 14 March 2014), originally known asAnthony Wedgwood Benn, but later asTony Benn, was a British politican, writer and diarist. He was a member of parliament (MP) for 47 years between the1950 and 2001 general electionsand aCabinet minister in the Labour governments of Harold Wilson and James Callaghanin the 1960\'s and 1970\'s. Originally a moderate, he was identified as being on the party\'s hard left from the early 1980s, and was widely seen as a key proponent of democratic socialismwithin the party.
