This is a 1940s or 1950s Ritepoint mechanical pencil, with a clear vial of motor oil on the top with a ball bearing floating inside. This pencil features a red, white and blue Skelly Oil and Gas logo and has printed on the barrel: Pitney-Morford, Belvue, Ks. Truck Stop. This is from the OLD Skelly Oil Co. that no longer exists. At one point it was bought out and dissolved by Getty; the name was later revived by another company but Skelly Oil itself, headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, was never revived. It\'s in reasonably good condition for its age. It works and has lead inside. Bill Skelly was an interesting historical figure and you can still see more about him on Wikipedia. His mansion still exists in Tulsa. Skelly was a big employer in Tulsa at one time.
