This is a complete,authentic, hand-made Cuna Yala blouse withtwo beautiful near-matching molas, one in the front of the blouseand one in the back. The bright, colorful geometric patterns aresimilar but different and highlight a cross pattern on each. Theprecision and detailevident in theworkmanship and designreflecttheconsiderable time taken in its creation,the creativity involved, and the cross-cultural influences on its creator.This one-of-a-kind, vintage blouse was created in 1966 by a Cuna Indian womanfrom the San Blas Islands off the Caribbean coast of Panamaand from whom I purchased this piece in 1968 on the island of Aligandi, San Blas, Panama.
