Two pieces of 18th c treen in lignum vitae wood.I have read that these were used as counter top snuff boxes and a small amount could be measured out with the hollow lid.They are well turned,very heavy and both have a nice original surface.Condition is good and the larger one is just over 13\" high while the other is 12\".They both have bases that are about 5.5\" in diameter.The finial on the larger one has been broken and is held on with putty.The break is below the collar so it is not visible.It also has checking to the surface but no actual cracks or damage.The other one has an age crack in the finial and a small natural flaw in the wood on the first ring at the top and the base.Shipping will be 20.00 in the US.
