Up for sale are two vintage Steuben crystal sterling silver top shakers (Steuben Catalog #7868). Both are heavy and sturdy and in good condition. There is a very minor dent on top of one shaker as shown. The shakers were designed by Arthur Douglass Jr in 1940. There are no chips or cracks with some minor base wear. Sterling silver tops are stamped “Sterling” and the crystal bases have the “Steuben” signature. They are approximately 4.5” tall and 2” in diameter. Steuben Glass Works was an American art glass manufacturer, founded in the summer of 1903 by Frederick Carder and Thomas G. Hawkes in Corning, New York, which is in Steuben County, from which the company name was derived. On September 15, 2011, Steuben\'s Corning factory and Manhattan store shut down, ending the company\'s 108-year history.
