What we have here is a scarce 1942 AFH (AMERICAN FORK & HOE) 16\" Model 1905 US bayonet. Most of these long bayonets, which fit the bolt action Springfield 03 & 03A3 rifles as well as the M1 Garand, were recalled and cut down. The blades were reduced from 16\" to 10\". This one is in as found condition. The blade is very good with some roughness near the point. There is some surface rust around the grips which are very good. It should clean up. The 1909 leather sheath looks decent until you get to the tip.....it has severe damage as shown. Nice, scarce piece. Thanks for offerding, R.W.
