~ SENSIBLE OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED ~ The Irish Rebellion of 1798 (Irish: Éirí Amach 1798), also known as the United Irishmen Rebellion was an uprising against British rule in Ireland lasting from May to September 1798.The malice for all things British is evident from the hatred perpetrated on this coin both on the Obverse and Reverse sides. The Obverse has two Flintlock muskets aimed at George III, one firing a musketball into his eye and the second firing a musketball into his throat. The Reverse has a Flintlock musket firing one up the backside of Britannia. Notice also the deliberate long scratches across the king\'s head.The coin is dated 1797 and the counterstamped muskets were hammered in roughly about the same time as can be seen from the same patination in the indentations.
Although this Cartwheel Penny of George III has had quite a bit of wear over the years the the key elements are still visible, GEORGIUS III ~ BRITANNIA ~ date 1797Provenance for this coin will not be given so please do not ask.~ ALL OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED ~
