ITEM DESCRIPTION

This sale is for a unusual large antique early Derby \'patchmark\' figure.

Dating to c. 1770.

A rustic gent gathering flowers for his lady.

Modelled with a dramatic lean, I have seen and sold so many figures with that lean and I am yet to explain it - adds to the magic of the piece if you ask me.

Measures 8.25 inches/21cm tall.

As you can see in the images it has had some professional restoration to the right arm which is now perishing, both hands (missing one finger), hat brim, neck,flower losses etc, manufacturing chip to the edge of the base.

It sounds dramatic but its got a very good look to it.
