The US Army Air Forces introduced the B-15 flight jacket in 1944, and it was an instant classic. Crafted of rugged OD cotton/rayon with a warm alpaca pile lining and a thick mouton collar, it quickly became symbolic of the daring AAF pilot late in WW2. This US Army AAF WW2 PILOT B-15 FLIGHT JACKET is in very good condition, with an overall malodorous air from storage in a smoky room,moderate dark soiling at the inner right wrist,some dark soiling at the lower left front, the back right hem, and the inner left wrist, a bit of spot mothing at the interior back waistband, and with some scattered soiling and age wear evident (most pictured). Otherwise, the jacket is in fine shape, with absolutely no rips, holes, tears, or other damage to the tough OD cotton/rayon construction. Most interestingly, it boasts a thick, lush genuine mouton collar and padded button throat latch, sports a fully functional \"CONMAR\" darkened brass front zipper with a brown leather pull, and carries the iconic full colored \"winged star\" stencil of the \"ARMY AIR FORCES\" at the left shoulder. It\'s a Size 36, features snap closure, slash entry lower front \"hand warmer\" pockets, the original OD knit cuffs and waistband, and a warm alpaca pile lining, and bears the classic \"TYPE B-15\" AAF nomenclature label at the inside neck.
