Thisis an original SSI worn by a soldier assigned to the Middle East Forces. This command was responsible for supporting the Ninth Army Air Force until its departure from the Middle East Theater. It then supported operations of the Air Transport Command to include activities in Northwest Africa. As you can see from my response, I’ve been at this a while but I’m not perfect.
