AN ORIGINAL CURB STRAP MADE IN RUSSET COLOR SO THEREFORE MADE BETWEEN AROUND1903 AND 1909. THIS STRAP IS TYPICALLY SEEN ONTHESO CALLED BULLS EYE BRIDLE OFINDIAN WARERA (BLACK LEATHER)WHICH WAS STILL IN USE BUT THEN BECAME RUSSET CIRCA 1903.

THIS STRAP WOULD FASTEN ONTHE SHOEMAKER BIT.

THIS CURB STRAP SHOWS NO WEAR MERELY SOME STORAGE AND HANDLING MARKS. IT IS STAMPED \"WAE\" THE INITIALS OF THE INSPECTOR OR LEATHER MAKER.

IT HAS NEVER SEEN A LEATHER TREATMENT AND IS DRY BUT SOLID.

IN ALL MY YEARS OF SERIOUSLY COLLECTING US CAVALRY EQUIPMENT I HAVE ONLY SEEN ONE RUSSET BULLS EYE BRIDLE.
