US GI USMC M-1 M1 Helmet Vietnam Era:

This is a Vietnam era US GI Marine Corps style helmet with a Korean War era liner.The steel shell has swivel bales and the edge seam is on the front. The shell has very slight dents on the top and the paint is scuffed and chipped.The shell\'s chin strap clasp is marked with an anchor as shown.The camouFlage cover has all long flaps and is reversible from green to tan. There is some wear on the areas where it was stretched over the brim. Contract markings are as shown.The rubber camouFlage band was cut from a jeep inner tube. The liner\'s inside crown is marked \"CAPAC51.\" I attempted to photograph this marking, but it was difficult to get it to show up well. \"CAPAC\" is stamped in a cross format with the \"51\" at the bottom.The liner has some marks and lettering on the outside. The brim has a closed crack as indicated.The leather sweat band is still pliable and has all toothed clips which have slightly abraded the webbing.The neckband is marked 1967. The liner\'s leather chin strap and fittings are in excellent condition.This item is from a smoke-free home.Thanks for looking at my sale.
