Very good condition and guaranteed all original U.S. Model 1812 cavalry saber that is complete with correct original scabbard. Sword has N. STARR and U.S. markings on the blade with inspector initials. Full length massive 34” curved blade has mixed brown, gray, and bright metal finish. Still has original leather washer intact at the base. Remaining metal has attractive plum brown-brown patina. Has a “V” proof on the knuckle guard. Wood grip has untouched patina and a crack. All steel scabbard has black metal finish and no dents, complete with hanger ring. A very rare early US martial Starr cavalry saber that will make an outstanding addition to your collection and a superb display piece.
