Typed letter signed “Franklin D.Roosevelt”. 1p., 8.0 x 10.5 inch, “The White House Washington letterhead”,1942, March 4. Letter to William H. Davis in Washington. Signed at theconclusion in black ink. In full: “In your capacity as a public member of theNational War Labor Board, and in accordance with the provisions of ExecutiveOrder No. 9017 of January 12, 1942, I hereby prescribe that you shall receivecompensation for you services at the rate of $10,000 per annum, effective March1, 1942.\" The letter shows original mailing folds, with file holes at thetop edge and minor toning at the edges, else very good. Uncommon WW II. dated.
