US WW2 VINTAGE F/B M 1 HELMET REISSUED TO FRENCH NAVY:

Early WW2 vintage M-1 steel pot, front edging seam, fixed bales, Khaki web chinstraps with brass hardware, lot code \"666B\" impression stamped into the underside of the visor. There are 4 vertical stress cracks to the shell in the rear area and one shallow dent in the upper rear dome area. The shell was factory issued with the usual cork mix OD paint, it shows a lot of heavy use, approx 30% of the exterior has a nice bare metal patina. The liner is a WW2 vintage made by Firestone with the front vent grommet and has Khaki webbing with phosphated \"A\" washers. The liner exterior is painted in the factory OD paint. The liner is missing the nape strap and the leather chinstrap. Many French units that were directly attached to US units were completely outfitted with US equipment - Ref. the French 2nd Armored Corps.SOLD AS A MILITARY COLLECTIBLE ONLY.
