US WW2 front sight cover for M1903A3 Springfield Remington S-C rifle NOS M1903 :

This is a WW2 USGI front sight cover or hood for the Model 1903A3 Remington or Smith-Corona made Springfield rifle. I believe it also fits the earlier M1903 rifles as well, it is the same part number. You are buying one cover from a WW2 bulk package. It is covered incosmoline preservative and will need to be cleaned prior to use. Any bore cleaner or even hot soapy water will remove the cosmoline. G marked for Gussack. The finish is a dark grey parkerized surface, almost looks blued when seen in person. I have included a picture showing one cover cleaned (onleft in picture) and one cover as you will receive it with cosmoline in place. This is a great item for the US WW2 rifle collector.
