Photo Description: An air to air \"selfie\" view 8x12 photo of Lt. Col. Roger K. Parrish, flying in Thunderbird 1 position, the Commander/Leader for the 1973-1974 season of the United States Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron Thunderbirds flying F-4E Phantom aircraft. In the spring of 1969 the Thunderbirds transitioned from the F-100D Super Saber to the F-4. The conversion to the aircraft was the most extensive in the team\'s history. Among several modifications, the white paint scheme from bare metal changed which allowed the paint to resist heat and friction at high speeds.
