You must read the entire history of this container! It has two stories and they are both documented on the box!

USGI 2.25\" SCAR ALUMINUM ROCKET STORAGE and Transport Metal Box. Box is dated 1945 during World War Two. WWII

It originally carried the 2.25-Inch Sub-Caliber Aircraft Rocket, or SCAR, was an American unguided rocket developed by the United States Navy during World War II. Capable of simulating the aerial rockets then coming into operational service, the SCAR was used to train pilots in the use of the new type of weapon, and continued in service throughout the 1950s.

Ok best part of the box, it had served TWO different munitions! It also carried the M28A2 3.5 HEAT Rockets!

US M20 Super Bazooka ROCKET – HEAT 3.5-Inch M28A2

In 1945, the original Bazooka shoulder-launched anti-tank rocket was no longer an effective weapon against then modern armor. Therefore a much more powerful rocket and launcher of 8.9 cm (3.5 in) caliber was developed. The system was officially known as the 3.5-Inch High-Explosive Anti-Tank Rocket, but was frequently called the “Super Bazooka”.

The “Super Bazooka” had greater effective range, penetrating capability and was nearly 20% lighter than its counterparts

This is a rare opportunity to get hold of a piece of war history! It\'s over SEVENTY years old! It still looks amazing! It has a rubber seal and appears to be water tight, HOWEVER NO GUARANTEE ON WATER TIGHT!

I have never seen one in this condition! Has a small knock in the side, at the top, which barely bent the lid too. Little bits of paint missing, but mostly there. Seal looks good and fits perfectly! This looks like it was never used! You can see the original 1945 stamp ok the lid, embossed in the metal. Inside appears to be have been coated with some type of protectant, but shows zero wear. Has all original paint in all Navy Grey. Very solid but very light! Ships at about 15 pounds!

Could be used for ammo can, paint ball, air soft or general storage.

Outside dimensions:

29\" L x 11\" W x 12\" H

*** THIS IS AN ORIGINAL, US NAVY ISSUED BOX. THE CONTENTS WERE DEMILLED AT MCALESTER ARMY AMMUNITION PLANT. THAT IS WHERE THE BOX CAME FROM. STUCK IN A BUNKER FOR MANY YEARS AND NEEDS A HOME! ***
