Attention all Marines and Marine Corps patch enthusiasts! This is a FINE example of a unit logo patch for Fourth Battalion, Tenth Marines. These can\'t be found just anywhere! Not, of course, allowed on the uniform, but worn on all manner of off-duty civilian caps and clothing as novelty items.

4th Bn, 10th Marines (Artillery) has a long, distinguished list of battle honors from WWII, where the battalion performed its mission, providing fire support for 2nd Marine Division! I believe the main weapon of this battalion was the 155mm howitzer. (In later years it was probably the self-propelled M-109.)

Recent Decades: I don’t find mention of 4/10 in any of my Desert Storm histories, but did run across info that led me to believe the battalion was deactivated in the late eighties. On the official 10th Marines web page, 4th Battalion is not listed. So that makes this patch is a rare commemorative for veterans and collectors!

This is a BRAND NEW and UNUSED patch. It is NOT a war relic but a recent manufacture item! (Note: This is a nice size patch -- over 4 1/2 inches wide. Would look GREAT sewn on a jacket, or displayed in your collection!) Embroidered on red twill with cut (non-merrowed) edge and plastic heat-sealed backing. Colors are clean and bright. Packaging & Reliability:

My flat-fee shipping structure covers cost of packaging and postage, and is a best-guess estimate for size and weight of items. It\'s not an exact science. (I have not raised my shipping fees over the years, despite several postal rate increases.) Items ship in zip-closure poly bags to protect from moisture. Patches usually ship as First Class letters, but multiple items may ship together as a parcel.

In my experience, the track record of US Postal Service delivery within the US is practically 100% reliable. I may at my discretion choose tracking and/or insurance for shipments of a certain value. But the best insurance you can have is to make sure you provide a current and correct postal delivery address, and to check your mailbox regularly.
