One of the most distinctive pieces of Leatherneck equipment was the \"bunny ears\" cross flap canteen cover, specially designed for amphibious assaults.This USMC Marine US WW2 KHAKI \"BUNNY EARS\" CROSS FLAP CANTEEN COVER is in very good condition, with a light overall malodorous air from storage in a smoky room, some scattered dark spot soiling throughout, some light nicking at the lower middle front, some light loose threading along the top edge of the wire hanger support at back,some uneven bending to the wire hanger itself,and with some scattered age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the cover is in fine shape, with no other damage to the tough khaki canvas construction. Most interestingly, it boasts fully functional darkened brass \"lift-the-dot\" closure \"bunny ears\" cross flaps, sports an intact metal wire hanger at back, and features the classic sewn funnel hole at bottom.
