This is an old Hurd Padlock manufactured in DetroitMichigan and made for the United States Navy. It is stamped with \"USN\" on the back. It comes with the original key and works very well. This padlock has seen better days externally however internally everything works just as it should. The shackle springs up nice and strong as well as the plug turns withe ease.

THE REASON FOR SELLING MY LOCKCOLLECTION: Due to financialcircumstances and my daughter’s health condition, I am parting with most of mylock collection. My daughter may need to undergo another surgery but because ofher age, this surgery will cost $10,000 and require a hospital overnight stay.I don’t want to give a false impression this isn’t a life or death situation inanyway but we have been dealing with her foot for 2 years now since her birthand I have a strong feeling that at a point soon the Dr will say the surgery isa must so I need to prepare now. I have been a member of the locksportcommunity for several years but since my daughter’s birth I have put the hobbyaside to deal with her health. Please follow me as I will be listing many morelocks in the following daysfrom antique rare old locks to brand new onesstill in their packaging.

KEYS: Ihave impressioned keys for many of my locks and I will try to state whether thekey is hand-made or not. If a key is hand-made and you plan to use it on aregular basis, I strongly recommend making a copy (local locksmith $1 for acopy) and using the copy as during the process of impression the keys can oftenweaken. I have always checked for cracks in my keys and would always re-make akey should I see any weakness but to be on the safe side just make a copy.
