Authentic USS Constitution relic. This vintage gavel has a brass tag saying that it is \"Made of the original oak removed from the gun deck of the U.S.S. Constitution\". Old Ironside was launched in 1797 and restorations are a must for upkeep and maintenance. Pieces are then salvaged for its historical value, being the oldest active frigate in the US Navy fleet.This is a beautiful gavel wooden mallet with a piece of American Naval Military history. 11\" long and the head is 3 1/2\" long and 2\" across at center.
