IssuedNew York: circa 1835 (difficult to pin down without further research).

Scarce original antiqueearly 19th centurywood-engraved print with pleasing original hand color.

Printed on period paper as issued,whichshows light signs of age,perhaps edge wear or small margin faults, but remains sound and pleasing in person.

This particular type of engraved printing processwas very laborious, involving long-apprenticed highly trained hand artisans. It also involved challenging hand-operated machinery, inking of plates, sheets of paper individually hung to dry,and other endless tasks and labor.Because of these and various other factors,this printed leaf is an interesting original artifact from an era long past.

CONDITION:

InGood+ to near VG condition, sheet lightly age-toned as typical, some scattered small spotting or light soiling, edge wear or small splits, but really, mostly clean & still fairly fresh --overall a nice impression and well preserved given the age &topic.
