Ultra Rare 1920\'s Pressed Steel Pedal Car Soap Box DERBY ~ Look!!!
Up for sale is an ultra rare 1920\'s pressed steel kids toy pedal car - SOAP BOX DERBY - Metal Co. Products Inc West Haven Connecticut. According to our research the company was in business for a short time during 1920\'s and manufactured only a few different types of pressed steel toys. As many other companies, Metal Products Inc most probably went bankrupt during the Great Depression.
The pedal car has a great look, it is all original with the exception of one wheel which has been replaced (back right wheel). The condition of the car is good for the age, mechanism appears to be still in working order, the steering mechanism needs some adjustment (when the wheels are standing straight the steering handle is shifted a bit on the left - we are not sure if it is or not supposed to be that way, just assumed if should be straight), one of the screws on the side is missing. The car still has most of the original red paint, the decals are also visible (not complete). The car measures approximately 32\"x15\"x14\".
Very nice original pice, would make for a great addition to your collection, wonderful display!
