Unfinished Tales by J R R Tolkien.

This hardback book is a first UK edition and first printing with it being published in 1980 by George Allen and Unwin.

The book is in very good condition for its age. It comes housed in its original dust jacket which has not been priced. There is some light edge wear to the jacket but it is minimal. The blue colouring on the front of the jacket is slightly faded and the blue lettering on the spine has completely faded to white. This seems to be a regular occurrence with these books due to the type of ink used during printing.

Internally, the book is also very good. All pages are fully legible albeit slightly yellowed through age. Page extremities are also slightly yellowed. The book does not appear to have been read very much.

Apart from the presence of a neat gift inscription to the first free end paper as pictured, there are no other inscriptions, annotations or writing within the book.

The book also contains the usual pull out map at the rear which is also in great condition.

Overall, a very good first edition copy of this collectable book.
