A large, rare, and unique c.1907 Austrian Amphora Art Nouveau vase.


Imperial Amphora Geometric Double Gourd Vase with Five Spouts and Stylized Beautiful Floral Blue Daisy Decor, Turn-Teplitz, Bohemia, Austria, Early 20th Century.


        


 

Bulbous double gourd shape footed vase with long ribbed neck, flanked wby handles.


Hard earthenware, colorful, hand painted, matte finish.  Impressed with Crown mark, \"Austria\" in oval mark, and many other markings that I cannot make out, both words and numbers.

Teplitz refers to art pottery manufactured by a number of companies in the Teplitz-Turn area of Bohemia during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.  Two of these companies were the Alexandra Works, founded by Ernst Wahliss, and The Amphora Porcelain Works, run by Reissner, Stellmacher, and Kessel. Amphora Porcelain Works used a variety of marks with the word Amphora or the initials RS&K.
