Uniquely Framed Deed Of Sale For Church Pew, UK 1775 (Topsham):
$125.00

Deed of sale for a church pew (it appears to be Topsham Church) from 1775. It begins, “This indenture made the thirty first day of January in the fifteenth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God of Great Britain”. If I am making out the name correctly it is deal between Thomas Hunt, John Baker Warden and William Drew of the Parish Church of Topsham. There is reference made to the second seat in the new gallery number nine. The document is in very fine shape and affixed with wheat or rice paste, expertly framed here in Philadelphia by Perakis Frames, who cut out a section in the back of the frame so the names and date can be viewed when removed from the wall.

Wonderful piece of history and great conversation starter!
