Up for sale is an attractive Victorian print and tint tile made by T & R Boote. This tile has a large image in the neo-classical style covering much of the tile depicting bows, swags, musical instruments & a central motif of a woman in classical costume adding contents to an urn which is pouring forth steam. Towards the top at the centre is an animal head possibly a lion or cat ? The tile is printed in green and hand tinted in brown and red. All on a slightly off white background.

Approx size - 6 inches or 15.5 cms square.

Condition - repaired - the top right corner has been repaired (glued) - looks like it may once have been in 3 pieces (see all photos): Corners & edges various small chips, nibbles and nicks. Surface - cracks associated with repair, small hairline above animal head to top edge of tile, another towards left edge. Scratching all over. Crazing.Surface overall in clean condition. This tile has an unusual and interesting design which would make a great addition to any collection of period tiles.

As with all china / pottery there may be some small raised areas & indents to the surface & specks & spots of other colour within the glaze.

Reverse & Edges - Minor chips and nibbles, some discolouration. Repair as described earlier. Maker\'s mark to centre. (see photos).
