Unusual Hand Bell Cage Rattle Luristan Middle Eastern Islamic Persian Indian:
$95.00

Up for sale is an unusual dark bronze rattle or cage bell adorned with a bird finial and containing six iron balls. Bell is very unusual and has stumped many appraisers. I was recently informed that it resembles an ancient Luristan cage bell in function although it does have some age, it is obviously not as old. It is most likely Middle Eastern in origin. The bird of paradise adorning the bell resembles a peacock or hamsa swan. It measures approximately 6 1/4 inches tall with a base of 4 by 4 inches. Piece is unmarked and unsigned. It is in great condition with a dark patina and rust around the iron balls. Please refer to the photographs for any imperfections.
Piece was lightly cleaned before being photographed. You may wish to have it professionally cleaned or polished. Please contact me if you have any questions, need a quote for international shipping, or require additional photos. Be sure to view my other listings as I will have additional quality antiques, gold, sterling silver, and costume jewelry for sale.
