A rare find the best I could date this one is it was made in the early 1860s by the J.A. Joel & Co. New York . The sword an officer dress model is 35 1/4\" long with a 30 \" blade . The blade is marked U.S. on one side and features an Eagle on the other , it has some light rust and ware . The Scabbard is dent free and looks to have been refinished .
