align=\"left\" class=\"item_desc\" style=\"COLOR: rgb(0,0,0)\">Because United Artists, who produced the film \"A Hard Day\'s Night\" had rights to the album, Capitol was prevented from issuing the soundtrack and calling \"A Hard Day\'s Night\". Instead, Capitol - who had stereo mixes of the tracks where United Artists didn\'t - came up with Something New. For Something New, Capitol used 8 tracks from the UK version of A Hard Day\'s Night along with \"Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand\" (a German recording of \"I Want To Hold Your Hand\") and the 2 tracks from the UK Long Tall Sally EP not issued on Meet The Beatles.

Something New is easily the best of the U.S. Capitol albums. It\'s light on smash hits, and that is it\'s greatest strength. What you wind up with, is a neat snapshot of how the boys were actually making it happen musically, beyond the hype. \"Something New\" may actually be better than its British counterpart. It skips all the filler and as a result, the album seems to flow better.

A little old style R\'n\'R (Slow Down), a nifty Ringo tune (Matchbox) stick to their roots, but they were already outgrowing their teen-scream phase & it shows in tunes like \"I\'ll Cry Instead\", \"Things We Said Today\" & \"When I Get Home\", where they start turning the standard pop structures around into new shapes. Add in some heavy folk overtones on the ballads & you\'ll hear they\'re setting the stage for their next revolutionary stage.
