We have a total of 3 of these goats which I brought back this summer. They are new and unused. They are handmade so sizes are all a bit different as well as their horns. 2 of them are large and 1 is medium. Pls read each listing for dimensions. Total height 23\". Height without horn 18\". And 13\" from tail to chest.
The earliest form of Julebukking was a pre-Christian pagan ritual. The tradition of the Yule goat (Julebukk) is commonly believed to have originated in Norway at a time when pagans worshiped Thor, the god who traveled in his chariot drawn by two goats. [During the Yule holiday, they would disguise their appearance by dressing in a goatskin and go from house to house carrying a goat head.
Christian missionaries modified the tradition of course and divorced its meaning from Paganism.
