VERY NICE LARGE FRENCH HUNTING POWDER FLASK EARLY 19TH CENTURY:
$475.00

This is a wonderful example of a rare and seldom encountered in this large size and condition of a well made French Molded Lanthorn Powder Flask that dates from the late 18th to early 19th Century. The body is constructed of two molded horn sections and fitted with a brass frame which is mounted with a brass flip top charger. The lovely horn body has survived in exceptionally nice condition with just a little insect damage on the backside but no cracks and no holes. The brass charger also remains in very good serviceable condition and continues to lock well with its spring. Although frayed and knotted, the original braided cording is still present. Overall measuring 10 3/8 inches in length by 6 inches at the widest. (please note other items shown as props are not included in this sale) TO SEE ADDITIONAL PHOTOS PLEASE SCROLL DOWN.
