VERY NICE U.S. EAGLE HEAD OFFICER SWORD EARLY 19TH CENTURY:

This is an extraordinary example of a beautiful U.S. Eagle Head Officer’s Sword that dates from the early part of the 19th Century. It is mounted with a gorgeous curved blade that measures 9 1/2 inches in length which has survived in wonderful original condition with most of the fabulous bright blue and gold still present and with only little minor surface blemishes near the tip on either side. The intricately detailed brass guard features a handsome eagle head pommel and fully winged eagle on the front languet, all remaining tightly in place. The beautiful natural carved hilt remains in very healthy condition and has now developed a lovely deep aged mellowing. The silvered fitted leather scabbard remains in superb original condition as well with all the stitching still tightly intact and all the wonderfully detailed fittings securely in place and with traces of the silvered finish still present.
