ANOUSTANDING EXAMPLEIN A VERY TOUGH DATE

1884-S MORGAN

<MUCH SCARCER DATE >

******Serious Date Rarity******

Experts call this the wildest of allMorgan dates. They sent just about every coin into circulation. By the way, you can cancel any hopes of ever acquiring a mint state 1884-S Morgan. You might not ever even see one !

It\'s a far more difficult date in the series and mint state coins have become tough to source and cost some serious money. High grade examples do not fit into the coin budget at all. This will always be considered a tougher coin to fill in a set. A decent example in just about ANY grade has become a rare find. This one is far above most you\'ll ever see on .

Check the features....\"wow\" is this one a standout.

You won\'t find many from thisdate in a no-reserve sale. Most of the coins from this date are sold in a BUY IT NOW format. At a price well above published guidelines. There are fewer and fewer examples of this date offered on every year. A quick check of the completed listings on in this date is the best documentation. There were roughly 33% fewer 1884-S Morgans sold in the first half of 2014 on here than the prior year. In 2015 that trend will continue, or perhaps even intensify. This date is already ascarcer onein the series and will probably join the ranks of the \"semi-key dates\" later this decade. In high grades, it\'s absolutely one of the most elusive coins in the series.

An estimated 99%of the modest strike total of only3.2 million coins went into circulation. What fewmint state examples exist cost a fortune. A huge percentage of the available coins that remain today show heavy wear and arethus in lower quality. This one is clearly NOT in that category. It\'s probably the finest raw 1884-S I\'ve ever put up on here.Beautiful \"powdery toned\" color and it could be quite some time before you ever come across one this nice without an outrageous reserve price.

The date is such thatthere\'s just not much to choose from and most collectors must settle for aheavilycirculatedexample.This 1884-S is in quite nice shape overall. Problem free and exactly the right type to collect. I think it grades nicely and am calling is XF to AU. Check the views....plenty of pics. I even lean to low AU.

It showsa classic goldengray color and\"primo\"eye appeal. The rims are strong on both sides.All that said, it\'s stillcertain to show a superior return and itgives youthe date in a very elusive Morgan slot.I can\'t assignit a numeric grade anyway. Only a top service can do so. The valuation gap between this example and those in certified high AU make it a tremendous value too.

The qualityis obvious. The scarce San Francisco mintage in this date willmake it a nice investment coin for you.

Rare-date silver dollars like this are probably the best value in collecting right now. Add as many to your collection as possible. They aren\'t that common but they are loaded with value that exceeds thecurrent availability. They are also \"liquid\" when it comes to being sold one day for a huge gain. By the way, the availability of all quality silver dollars is and has been shrinking for quite some time andwill absolutelynever get back to previous levels of even a couple of years ago.

Finally, this 1884-Sships FREE, just like each and every Morgan I have listed for sale or sale. What a difference it makes when you get your coins shipped free. Countless scientific studies have shown that you\'ll wind up with more Morgans when you use free shipping. Check my other silver coins up next week.

Thanks for looking at this rare coin !

Note: the final pic ? That\'s the \"Ole Prospector\". He discovered the Comstock Lode in the mountains outside Virginia City, Nevada. Still the largest silver deposit ever uncovered on earth. Every Morgan struck at the Carson City and San Francisco mints used silver from this famous source. Literally multiple mountains of silver and a huge reason we have these coins to enjoy today.
