A wonderful and Very Rare to find Antique 19th Century Anglo Indian Finely Carved Figure of a recumbent Camel Vase or Bowl Stand circa 1890.
Hand Carved Indian Hard Wood in the very finest detail. The Camel is extremely realistic!
On the top is a circular Stand with original Baize covering to protect the item to be displayed, most probably for a Bowl or Vase.
In Fine condition with only minor chips/losses as you would expect from a functional piece if this age.The Tip of one ear is missing and some tops to the freeze base (please see photos).
A truly charming and important carving. Not many have survived, particularly in this condition and with a lovely rich nut brown patina.
The Camel displays so beautifully and is of course still functional today!
