A DESCRIPTION

Offering this very rare wool original Capps 1905 Indian Trade blanket in the Flathead pattern. The pattern is typical of the Capps style in a rare flathead design, being more simple and in bands. Colors of red, cheddar/pumpkin, green and cream. It has the original felt binding that is in poor condition. The label is still in the corner, but very frayed and unreadable. The blanket is very very old and well used, being sold as-is. As an original over 100 years old, the blanket has many thin spots, small holes and tattered ends and seams. The positive is the authenticity and the colors which are very vibrant. The blanket displays well at the earliest size of 68 x 48 There\'s a blanket in the book Chasing Rainbows by Barry Friedman on page 76 referencing this pattern in the 1911 catalog though through some additional research I have been shown it to be in the earlier 1905 edition.
