THIS IS A VERY RARE AND QUALITY PIECE OF EARLY AMERICAN LIGHTING. RARE FORMS LIKE THIS IN SUCH CONDITION AND SURFACE ARE EXTREMELY RARE TO FIND.

A GREAT TINNED IRON \"IPSWICH\" TYPE BETTY LAMP ON STAND. American, Circa 1790-1830, in the best ORIGINAL OLD GRUNGY SURFACE AND GREAT PATINA.

The BEST form. This form is usually associated with the Ipswich, MA area of the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

It has a stepped saucer base and a wonderful crimped oval top tray. The original strap handle is fully intact. The condition is great, every solder joint is original and tight. The original Betty lamp still retains its original twisted hanging hook, chain and wick pick.

NO REPAIRS OR DAMAGES except the usual wear and tear.

The surface is the best.

This is a very important piece of American lighting. This great lamp came out of an early collection and is fresh to the market.

The bottom holder is 8\" tall. The bottom pan is 7 1/4\" across. the lamp is 4\" long and 2 3/4\" wide.

This is one of the BEST TIN \"IPSWICH\" TYPE Betty Lamps you will find. The condition is PERFECT and the Surface is THE BEST.

Similar examples are found in the Henry Ford Museum, Old Sturbridge Village and Historic Deerfield. Also, in \"The RushLight\", page 43, also shown in the last photo.
