The fellow having the estate sale told me that this instrument was used to analyze codes while in World War II.I\'ll let those of you who are more knowledgeable about this sort of thing decide for yourselves. Any information about this item would be greatly appreciated.

Box is completely lined with COPPER.The item is untested, so I don\'t know if it would still work or not. But, it does appear to be in Very Good Cosmetic condition over all, as far as I can tell. It is missing one bolt on top. (See photo where I\'m pointing to the area.) See photos from all sides, including the top & bottom. Also,I unscrewed the three remaining bolts and lifted the apparatus slightlyout ofthe box in order to show how the inside of the box is copper lined (photo #5).

Copper lined Box measures approximately 17 incheswideby 11 inches tall by 9 5/8 inchesfrom front to back. Instrument & box weighs approximately 35 pounds.
