This great piece is relatively clean, I see no major dents or dings and the piece is in Very Good condition. There is some light oxidation on the can and some fading and small tears on the libelfrom age. The handle is solid and the lid fits well and the tin is in Very Good condition. This is a rare can.

An article by Collectors Weekly referring to the same style tin says, \"The label has the earliest Butternut label found--dated in the early 1910\'s.to mid 1920 This is so rare that we have been unable to find any retailer who has even seen one. One of the possible reasons that it is rare was that it was a highly functional container (with a handle and lid and good volume). In the depression that was a valuable \"re-purpose\".\" In their retail appraisal section of the same article they say, \"the #10 can is so rare that the estimated value varied widely--as much as $ 1,000.00 alone.\"
