This amazing, VERY LARGE Russian Santa Claus is hand carved and hand painted in reds, bluesand golds,with a two sweet little Russian bears - one eating berries at his feet and one in his arms. Notice the long flowing beard, the paisley pattern on his hooded cloak.The little bear in Santa\'s arms has such a sweet expression on his face while the other at his feet just seems interested in those bright red berries!(See close up pictures below.)This statuetteis lacquered so it is easily cleaned and protected. The solid linden wood is dried for almost 2 years before it is carved so it will last a lifetime. Linden wood was once used to make drafting boards because it is so stable once it isproperly dried. It does not warp, change shape, or crack and this artistic piece will bring enjoyment for a lifetime! (Note: These are not molded or mass produced as are some molded resin Santas from China. All our Russian Santas are hand carved from Linden Wood and no two are ever identical!) This Grandfather Frost (as he is called in Russia) is made in Sergei Posad, Russia and is signed by the artist.
