Entirely hand-crafted and hand-sewn in Nepal, this sacred altar clothwould be perfect fora longaltar or shrine, as it is basically rectangular in shape.This cloth is 100% silk brocade, the finest that money can buy and this accounts for the brilliance of the colors and embroidery. Lots of golden thread gives a real sparkle! PLEASE NOTE: THE YELLOW FABRIC YOU SEE AROUND THE OUTSIDE EDGE IN SOME OF THE PICTURES IS ONLY THE FABRIC I LAID THIS ALTAR CLOTH ON WHEN I TOOK THE PICTURES OUT OF DOORS. I have a small square one (10 x10\")and a large square one that measures approxinately 18 x 18\" or 1.5 feet by 1.5 feet, The largest one is by far the most elaborate of the three, with lots of embroidery and use of familiar images like double dorjes, as well as some of the 8 Auspicious Symbols. I have included pictures of both of them near the bottom of this listing. The picture below, left,shows a close up of one of the ends of the altar cloth.~~This particular cloth was created using two rectangular \"frames\": a royal blue one on the outside, with almost a silvery thread used to create the beautiful organic design and an inner bright red rectangle adorned with shimmery golden threads--just beautiful!! I have provided close ups of the two motifs below, center and right. The picture on the left shows the back of the cloth. It is fully linedwith a red or blackcloth.~~The precise measurement for this altar cloth varies a bit from one to another, as these are hand-made and usually somewhat \"out of square\". The hand-crafted cloths don\'t truly look \"square\" on the edges to me but rather, like they were cut and sewn by eye. I really like this look myself because it has a sort of rustic charm and it is obvious the cloth is hand-crafted. I can sense the presence of the craftsperson who created the altar cloth, a person rather than a machine! the pictures below are a good example of what I am talking about.~ ~Care instructions: hand-wash separately cold water, line dry, warm iron.Shown in the listing pictures outside of this listingare pictures of the4 otherstylesof altar cloths that I currently have in stock.
