For your consideration, I am offering thisVictorian Ornate Aesthetic, 4 pc butter dish by Meriden B. Company from the late 1800\'s. The dish is complete with the original insert, the bottom portion was used to hold ice as to keep the butter cold. Both of thehandles are sturdy and detailed explicitly. The lid has an ornate thick band of flowers embossed all the way around. The dish is 1 1/2\" long from the bottom part x 8 1/2\" from handle to handle x 4 1/2\" to the top finial x5\" round. There is a side holder attached to the bottom for the knife. This set came with a set of tongs, which may or may not be original to the piece, however I am including them. They are marked \"Simeon L & George H Rogers Co x11, Pat April \'13. They are 5\" long.
There are no monograms or dents. No repairs though there is wear to the plate as shown.
Please remember thatmost Victorian items will show wear, they are always used, never new or in new condition. They have sat on many tables, held by many loving hands and lived an eventful life.
