This is for alovelyold Victorianbrass snuff box in the form of a book. The lid is hinged and has its original chain link appliqué on te top lid, the whole box has been designed tolook like the embossed leather cover of a book, and its been exquisitely finished. It a lovely early Victorian box....circa 1840 that has in later life been used as a vesta case, it has bee engraved with a striking area on the two sides for striking littlewax matches. It is a really nice box in the hand and it isin excellent condition with just the light wear you would expect, it still closes properly and it has a nice warm look to the metal. Itmeasures 74mm (2.75\") x 45mm (1.75\") by14mm (0.5\") deep.
