VICTORIAN BRISTOL COBALT BLUE GLASS ENGLISH MINIATURE KEROSENE OIL FINGER LAMP :

Up for sale is this tiny glass oil \'handlamp\' or finger lamp as they\'re often called in deepest blue cobalt or \'Bristol\' glass, with superb brass miniature burner by Wright and Butler of Birmingam and a light blue chimney .
Stands just over 8 inches tall in total, 21cms, 9 cms to top of burner . Base just over 2 inches diameter, and 3 inches wide including the handle .
Burner winds nicely, \'bootlace\' flat wick .Brass burner is marked on the winder, Wright and Butler, Birmingham, who were a major manufacturer through the Victorian period , and matching brass collar to the lamp .
The Bristol glass body has an applied enamel decoration often referred to as \'mary Gregory\' , but more likely done here in the UK. Design also has tiny touches of gold, some of which are worn .
There are NO crack and NO chips to the glass, including where the handle is attached .Bottom pinch of the handle is rough, as made , where the glass \'rod\' it was made from was pinched off. Chimney has fairly fine ground ends, has one stear shaped bubble and an attractive wrythen pattern.
Attractive little lamp, would look especially nice places somewhere the sun can shine through it .
