Up for sale is a Victorian butter dish by Meriden B. Company in good condition as shown in the pictures. The book American Silver Plate by Dorothy Rainwater feature a chapter on the the different "Mask Patterns" and date the style to the late 1860\'a through out the 1870\'s. The butter dish features the Bearded Man as legs and the bust of a woman on each of the handle. The finish is in both the traditional silver plate finish and the Butler Finish used to replicate years of polishing by the butler. The dish stands about 7.5 inches to the top of the finial and 3.5 inches tall to the rim and 10 inches from handle to handle. The inside is clean and usable but there is no insert. The handle to hold the butter knife is intact and silver plat is as shown. There is a monogram on one side which looks to be OA but not sure so please look at the pictures.
