This sale representsunique example of a vintage men\'s timepiece of one of the most known andrecognized Swiss brands.
This unique timepiecefeatures an ORIGINAL porcelain enamel dial that wasprofessionally restored and now is in excellent condition. Over an originaldial the layer of resistant black printing was piled up. This specimen is executed in a militarystyle and is stylized as the watch of the Luftwaffe. It is an early variantof the big navigation watch of the Luftwaffewith hour angle indication, featuring a 60 minute checkered outer track borderwith numbering, easily readable Arabic numerals and a sub-second’s dial. The originaldial is signed ‘OMEGA’ with trademark Omega symbol above this. On the dial thereis also inscription “SPECIAL NON-MAGNETIC”.
This model of OMEGA watch has a four-piece, double hinged case that wasmade especially for military watch to protect the mechanism from dust anddebris and to provide an extra layer of protection from shock or moisture. Theinside of back lid has the old trademarkOmega symbol with the inscription ‘OMEGA –SWISS MADE – FABRICATION SUISSE’and case reference number #9.916.942.
The winding crown is in very good shape and operates properly.
This unique watch is mechanical and completely original. The original movement is branded. The signedoriginal movement with 15 genuinejewels (on the movement there is a corresponding inscription) has serialnumber #9.030.022. The serial number on themovement places the date of production of this piece at 1939. On the movement there is also inscription “SWISS” testify that this watch has been assembled on 100%exclusively in Switzerland.The qualitative mechanism is in anexcellent status which was very well saved, considering age of this watch.
Originally this was a pocketwatch, but later it was remade for useas a wristwatch.

HISTORY: The History of a Successful Company Omega was foundedby Louis Brandt at La Chaux– de – Fonds, Switzerlandin 1848 as an assembly workshop. In 1879, after his death, his two sons LouisPaul and César started the in-house manufacturing so they started having totalproduction control. One year later, Omega moved into a small factory thatbecame a huge one when 12 months later they bought the entire building. In1903, they both died leaving the company in 24 years old, Paul Emile Brandt’shands. Because of the crisis that the Second World War left, he had to workreally hard in order to face the economic difficulties. He merged Omega withTissot calling the new company SSIH. The SSIH group continued to grow andmultiply under his leadership and, by the seventies, it had become Switzerland’snumber one producer of finished watches and number three in the world.
