VINTAGE 12K SOLID YELLOW GOLD EGYPTIAN 7 CT SIMULATED ALEXANDRITE RING SIZE 5.25:

This is a vintage Egyptian 12K solid yellow gold (hallmarked) ring with a large, round, faceted, simulated alexandrite stone in a high setting. The top of the ring is 5/8 inch in diameter, and the ring rises 3/8 inch above the finger. The stone is 12.2 millimeters in diameter, which is approximately 7 carats. Depending on the type of light, the color varies between a bluish-purple to purple to magenta. The ring is size 5 1/4 and weighs 5.4 grams. There are hallmarks on the inside of the band: the first mark indicates it is 12K, the second mark is the ibis bird indicating it is solid gold, and the third mark is a date mark (see close-up in 4th photo). We\'ve been advised by a helpful er that the date mark indicates it is from 1959-1965. The hallmark indicating it is 12K is repeated on the top edge of the ring (see close-up in 5th photo) and the side (see close-up in 6th photo). This unusual ring is in excellent condition.
